ATF/EFT Fingerprint Cards

What is an ATF/EFT Fingerprint File?

An EFT file is a digital fingerprint file formatted for ATF’s eForms system. It replaces mailing ink cards and lets you upload fingerprints electronically for eForm submissions. We can also print from your live-scan capture onto FD-258 cards when a paper submission is required.

At Evidence Fingerprint and Background Check, we create ATF-compliant Electronic Fingerprint Transmission (EFT) files and FD-258 fingerprint cards for your NFA applications (e.g., suppressors, SBRs, SBS, machine guns, AOW) via ATF eForm 1 and eForm 4. Our mobile technicians come to you—Newark, Jersey City, Trenton, Princeton, Atlantic City, Camden, and statewide—capturing clean, accurate prints that reduce rejections and speed approvals.

What Are ATF/EFT Fingerprint Files: Streamlining Your Firearms Applications?

  • Applying for ATF-regulated items can often feel complicated, and submitting accurate fingerprints is a critical part of the process. While paper fingerprint cards (FD-258) were once the only option, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) now also accepts Electronic Fingerprint Transmission (EFT) files for many applications.

Who This Is For?

  • NFA applicants filing ATF eForm 1 (make/modify) or eForm 4 (transfer).
  • FFLs / SOTs supporting customers who want fast, digital fingerprints.
  • Firearm owners seeking quicker, cleaner submissions vs. ink-only workflows.
